Olympus On-Demand provides access to our high quality flexible endoscopes, delivered directly to you, in a sterile barrier, with a microbiological test result and ready for immediate clinical use.

When you have finished using the device, Olympus will collect and transport it to our offsite facility, where we will oversee the cleaning and sterilisation process, ready for the next use.

How can you access the Olympus On-Demand solution?

With the official opening of the Sapphire Facility on September 2024, we are excited to announce the initial rollout of Olympus On-Demand Loan Endoscopes. This service will first be available to a select group of service contracted customers, with plans to expand to the broader market in the near future.

Facility Design:

With temperature, humidity and air pressure monitoring and control: Ensures optimal conditions for endoscope reprocessing and packaging, in accordance with manufacturing best practices.

Certifications and Compliance:

• Compliant to ISO 13485:2016 Medical Devices - Quality Management Systems
• Compliant to AS 5369 Reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices
• Certified CDS Operators

Designated Areas with Pass-Through System:

Allows for unilateral flow and operational efficiency while maintaining a controlled environment for each room.

• Decontamination Room: Equipped for manual cleaning and decontamination
• Disinfection Room: Fully automated high-level disinfection, as well as microbiological sampling and comprehensive asset check.
• Sealing Room: Sealing of Endoscope with a validated sealing process.
• Sterilisation Room: Features Ethylene Oxide Sterilisers, a validated and highly effective sterilisation method for thermolabile flexible endoscopes.
• Dispatch Room: Endoscope batches are quarantined until Quality Assurance confirms test results and releases them for dispatch to the next customer.

*The name "Sapphire," was inspired by the ancient Greeks and Egyptians who recognised the stone's healing properties. It was frequently found in the medical tools of many ancient healers and coincidently is used in the lens of an Olympus flexible endoscope today. Additionally the name "Sapphire" is derived from the Greek word "sapphirus," meaning blue, tying in perfectly with our Olympus brand.
