Firmware Upgrades

New firmware upgrades released for OM-D E-M1 Mark II, OM-D E-M5 Mark II and PEN-F

The new firmware upgrades add new functions and improved performance, along with the Bleach Bypass Art Filter to all three models. In addition, a LUT (Look Up Table) file will be made available alongside the new firmware upgrades for videos shot in the movie-exclusive picture mode "Flat" using DaVinci Resolve from Blackmagic Design to allow for optimal colour grading.

OM-D E-M1 Mark II Firmware Ver.2.0: Main Features

1. Improved functionality in Pro Capture Mode
(Number of pre-shutter frame buffers increased from 14 to 35, an icon display during Pro Capture and compatible lenses added)
2. Focus Stacking for M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-100mm f/4.0 IS PRO now supported
3. Small AF Target setting added (S-AF and C-AF)
4. In-body Fisheye Correction added (when using M.Zuiko Digital ED 8mm f/1.8 Fisheye PRO)
5. Magnify setting added 100% enlargement ratio for use during image playback
6. New Flicker Scan Aid function allows for easier removal of flickering when using electronic shutter

PEN-F Firmware Ver. 3.0: Main Features

1. Monochrome Profile and Colour Profile stills settings can be saved onto camera via computer
2. Shading effects in Monochrome Profile Control available in Colour Profile Control and Colour Creator

OM-D E-M5 Mark II Firmware Ver. 4.0: Main Features

・ Focus Stacking function added

The OM-D E-M1 Mark II is Olympus’ flagship camera designed to withstand the rigors of professional use to delivering outstanding images, while the PEN-F is a high-performance model of the PEN series that allows creative shooting through features such as Monochrome Profile Control and Colour Profile Control. Also, the OM-D E-M5 Mark II is a high performance interchangeable lens camera that features Olympus’ 5-axis Image Stabilization.
Firmware Version 2.0 for the OM-D E-M1 Mark II adds new features and improved performance at the request of many users. Due to popular feedback, Firmware Version 3.0 for the PEN-F adds a feature allowing the user to save the settings of Monochrome Profile and Colour Profile from their computer onto the camera. Firmware Version 4.0 for the OM-D E-M5 Mark II adds the Focus Stacking function available on the OM-D E-M1 and E-M1 Mark II. Each firmware upgrade includes the new Art Filter option Bleach Bypass, originally included on the OM-D E-M10 Mark III.
