What is a histogram and how do I use it? PDF  | Print |
The E-330 and E-500 provides histogram display functionality for a picture that's already taken.

A histogram shows the frequency distribution of bright and dark tones in a picture at a glance. The data in the extreme ends of the histogram indicates underexposure (the zone towards the extreme left), and overexposure (the zone in the furthest right).

A better indication of the specific overexposed or underexposed areas of a picture in playback can be seen using the overexposure and underexposure display option activated via the INFO button.
