All thanks to its foldable optical lens unit and floating electric circuit boards, the incorporation of shock-absorbing material inside the camera, combined with a shock-absorbing mechanism to protect the lens unit from impacts.

The body of the Mju Tough 8000 is made from surface-coated rigid stainless steel and features a zinc die-cast battery compartment. The outer finish is resistant to damage and the overall structure is able to withstand a load as high as 100 kg being placed on it, so it can easily resist damage if subjected to heavy weight.

Snowproof to -10°C
Ordinary digital cameras are not usually guaranteed to function at temperatures below 0°C, but all internal electrical components of the Mju Tough 8000 are guaranteed to operate at temperatures as low as -10°C. This assures reliable shooting performance in cold conditions.
