    The Mju Tough 6000 optimally synthesises toughness and style. Boasting waterproof, shockproof, and snowproof features, this camera can withstand depths of up to three metres, endure a fall from as high as 1.5 metres, resist dust, sand, and dirt as well as temperatures as low as -10°C. Continuing the tradition of toughness with technological innovation, the Mju Tough 6000 incorporates a Dual Shakeproof CCD-shift image stabilisation mechanism previously thought technically impossible with a shockproof design. This has been combined with the high-sensitivity shooting inherited from the Tough 1030SW to create the Dual Shakeproof Image Stabilisation function, which allows users to enjoy shooting without having to worry about camera shake even in difficult outdoor conditions or underwater.

    The new 2.7 inch HyperCrystal III LCD monitor features high brightness of 1000 cd/m2 at twice the contrast level of a conventional LCD monitor , a wide 160-degree viewing angle, and an anti-reflection coating. Whether it's the brilliant glare reflecting from the snow on a ski slope or the darkness under water this LCD monitor offers easy viewing, making it simple for users to compose shots in any kind of light.

    Shooting performance in the mid range Tough series has been improved with a substantial upgrade to the lens. The Mju Tough 6000 sports a wide-angle 28mm zoom lens with 3.6X optical zoom, unlike its predecessors that offered a 3x optical zoom lens. The upgrade makes the Mju Tough 6000 ideal for underwater shooting where the angle of view is narrow, as well as for photographing wide landscapes or a group of people in a restricted space. High quality images are assured by the high-definition 10-megapixel CCD and proprietary Olympus TruePic III image processing engine.

    Waterproof to a depth of three metres the Mju Tough 6000 is perfect for the poolside or the beach. It can even be safely used while participating in water sports such as surfing or water skiing. The camera's rigid structure has been drop-tested to a height of 1.5 metres ensuring that it can stand up to the shock and impact it may encounter during outdoor activity, and can be handled safely by children. With operation guaranteed in environments as cold as -10°C , this camera is equally suited for winter sports like skiing and mountaineering. Ready to stand up to just about anything including water, sand, dirt, impact and cold, the Mju Tough 6000 is the ideal all-season, all-purpose camera.  

    'Tap Control' - taking an exciting method of camera control to the flagship model

    The Mju Tough 6000 benefits from the recent introduction of Tap Control, found on the Tough Smart 1050SW launched in August 2008. With a built in accelerometer, users can take a photo and play it back simply by tapping the top or sides of the camera body or the surface of the LCD monitor, which is ideal for use when wearing heavy ski gloves. In addition to tapping, functions such as slideshow speed can also be controlled simply by tilting the camera, creating an entirely new sensation that increases the fun and convenience of camera ownership.
