2.0X focal length multiplier for any Zuiko Digital lens*

Unique to the Olympus digital lens system, the EC-20 (as well as the EC-14) is usable with a Zuiko Digital lens of any focal length due to the near telecentric qualities of the Zuiko Digital lens designs.

Although it is commonly believed that a 2x teleconverter degrades optical performance more than a 1.4x teleconverter the superlative EC-20 delivers performance at a level that's as good as or better than the EC-14!

Telephoto lens users requiring dramatically increased telephoto magnifications will appreciate the enhanced reach the EC-20 provides. By attaching the EC-20 to a macro or fisheye lens, photographers will be able create new and dramatic compositions from super high-magnification and super wide-angle macro photography.

For the sports photographer or photojournalist, the superfast compact Zuiko Digital 150mm f2 (300mm film equivalent focal length) used with the EC-20 provides a combined focal length of 300mm at F4 - meaning that the photographer would have a film equivalent 600mm F4 telephoto lens at his disposal that's no larger in size than a conventional 35mm film format 300mm F4 lens! Nature and surf action photographers using the razor sharp Super Pro 300mm F2.8 lens (600mm film equivalent) will instantly have a 600mm f5.6 lens (1200mm film equivalent!) just by attaching the EC-20.

The ability to double the focal length of the master lens using a high quality compact converter is also very convenient for extended traveling situations where minimising total equipment weight is important.
