  • The world's smallest and lightest LiveView digital SLR camera has arrived

Featuring LiveView technology, the Olympus E-410 is, quite possibly, the first digital single lens reflex (SLR) camera in the world that will appeal to the compact camera user seeking the high picture quality of an SLR camera, with the familiarity and ease-of-use of a simple 'point-and-shoot' with a live preview LCD screen.

Breaking new grounds in compactness and weight, the stylishly designed Olympus E-410 takes carry-everywhere convenience for an SLR camera to a new level. Family users, light-packing travelers, snapshot shooters, and keen photo-bloggers alike will enjoy using this camera on a daily basis because of its unobstrusive size and weight, and remarkable slimness. It's no wonder that this camera is truly ideal for the "Everyday Explorer".

    Benefits of Live View

For the digital camera user who likes the familiarity of using an LCD screen for preview and shooting, the E-410's large 2.5 inch screen provides a convenient 176 degree wide-angle view for awkward angle shooting that challenges conventional digital SLR cameras. High and low angle shots, and even sideways-tilted photography, are made easy with the E-410's large LiveView screen. The HyperCrystal technology LCD provides a bright and clear image viewing for enjoyable picture playback, and its wide viewing angle makes shared viewing a pleasure.

For the eyeglass-wearing photographer who had stopped using SLR cameras because it was just too hard to see through small optical viewfinders, the large and clear LCD live preview will bring a renewed experience of satisfying SLR camera use. LiveView technology even makes convenient shared use of an SLR camera amongst family members of varied photography skill levels possible.

Easy to use for the SLR beginner or compact camera user

The E-410 lets you take superb photos without the fuss. Easy, self-explaining "Scene" picture modes automatically adjust the camera to the best settings to use for each shot, so that all you need do is to pick the type of picture you want to shoot, and the camera does the rest!

For the beginner SLR user who likes to have an idea of picture results before snapping, with LiveView, white balance, exposure compensation and depth of field can be conveniently previewed in real-time on the LCD screen, unlike other conventional digital SLR cameras that have optical viewfinders only. To help you obtain accurately focused 'macro' close-up pictures of your favourite flowers, nature or small detailed objects, the E-410's LiveView screen includes a powerful zoom magnifier for a comfortably large real-time preview of the focus area.

Providing upgrading convenience, the Olympus E-410 uses both xD and Compact Flash memory cards. Astoundingly quick memory card write speeds means no data transfer delays even when the camera is set to shoot at the highest image quality setting, which means the E-410 will always feel quick and snappy in everyday use.

    Incredible picture quality

Featuring a 10 megapixel image-sensor and an all new picture processing chip, the Olympus E-410 delivers vibrant yet believable colours with low noise and rich details, even at higher ISO settings. The high image quality allows for large picture prints such as wall sized pictures of a favourite family picture, or a memorable landscape taken on holiday. It also provides convenient cropping flexibility so that you can choose to use only the part of the image you want later in editing.

A great camera that comes with great lenses

Experienced photographers know that a camera can really only be as good as the lens used with it. Picture sharpness ultimately depends on the quality of the lens used with the camera. To this end, the Olympus E-410 is matched with, arguably, the sharpest 'kit' lenses available today.

A rarity at this price level, the new ultra-compact wide-angle 14-42mm and telephoto 40-150mm zoom lenses made with special ED and aspherical optics deliver sharp and detailed pictures even at wide open apertures. This means that low-light or indoor pictures without flash, or portrait shots taken at the inevitable open apertures will be superbly sharp across the whole picture, from the middle of the image to its edges- quite unlike many average performing entry-level lenses sold with digital SLR cameras. Close focusing distances of 25cm and 90cm respectively for each lens provide excellent macro and closeup photography capabilities.

The Olympus E-410 single and twin lens camera kits thus offer tremendous value for money, giving the user a superb camera matched with great lenses, straight from the box!

Explore your everyday world with the new Olympus E-410 today!
