When used in conjunction with digital zoom, magnifications of up to an incredible 100 times is possible - taking your zoom halfway to the moon! The 28mm equivalent wide-angle setting is perfect for capturing indoor and outdoor group pictures, architecture, and landscape scenery. The SP-550UZ's super-macro mode enables macro shooting at a distance of only 1cm for astonishing close-up images .

    Hands shakey when taking long zoom or macro pictures? The SP-550UZ features an all new Dual Shakeproof technology with CCD Shift Stabilization to dramatically reduce unwanted camera shake problems!

    For sport and action photography, or simply taking pictures of active kids running around the yard, the super high-speed continuous shooting feature allows the camera to shoot at a rate of 15 frames per second (at 1.2 megapixel resolution - at 3.0 megapixel resolution, 7.4 fps is achievable). A unique pre-capture mode records 5 image frames even before the shutter button is pressed - maximising your chance of capturing that crucial action moment!
